Ingredients:
6 cups sugar
3 sticks (1 1/2 cups) butter
1 1/3 cups evaporated milk
2 packages (12 ounce each) semi sweet chocolate chips (5 cups)
1 (13 ounce) jar marshmallow crème
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups chopped nuts (optional)
Grease a 9 x 13 inch pan.
Rub inside of saucepan with butter to keep crystals from forming.
Mix sugar, butter, and evaporated milk in a large heavy saucepan. (I use an old aluminum pressure cooker bottom). Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly to dissolve sugar. Bring mixture to a full boil for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips until melted and combined. Beat in marshmallow cream, nuts, and vanilla. Pour into prepared pan and let cool before cutting into squares.
Note it may take 1 large bag, and one regular sized as chocolate chips come in 10 ounce bags now. Total: 5 cups per recipe.
